PRAM Central's Lt. Col. Christian Patterson, APR+M, will present "Maximum Information, Minimum Delay: Mississippi National Guard Public Affairs" on Jan. 30 at the Tupelo Visitors and Convention Bureau. Christian currently serves as the Director of Public Affairs for the Mississippi Military Department in Jackson and is assigned as a Public Affairs Officer within the Joint Force Headquarters, also in the capital city. He is also the recipient of the Southern Public Relations Federation's 2018 Professional Achievement Award. Lieutenant Colonel Christian Patterson currently serves as the Director of Public Affairs for the Mississippi Military Department in Jackson. He is also a 25-year member of the Mississippi National Guard and is assigned as a Public Affairs Officer within the Joint Force Headquarters, based in the capital city. During his career, he has deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Afghanistan. The combat and peacekeeping mission veteran has also completed assignments in France, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and St. Kitts and Nevis as well.Outside of uniform, Christian is very active in community service in the Jackson metropolitan area. He is a Life Member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and serves in the Rho Xi Lambda chapter, seated in Canton, Mississippi. Christian also volunteers with Jackson’s South Division of the American Cancer Society and with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Mississippi.Christian received his Accreditation in Public Relations + Military Communication credential, Oct. 3, 2012, from the Universal Accreditation Board in New York. He also possesses a Master of Business Administration degree from Belhaven University; Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication degree from Louisiana State University and A&M College; Associate in Arts in Radio, TV and Film degree from Hinds Community College; and a Professional Certificate in Strategic Communication and Leadership from Seton Hall University.Lieutenant Colonel Patterson is married to the former Latrice Prude of Oak Grove, Mississippi. The couple resides in Clinton and have a daughter and a son, Avery Grace, 4, and Samuel, 1.
